Don Munz

Don was born in California in 1931, and received his Bachelor of Arts degree, with honours, from Art Centre College of Design, and completed his Master’s degree at California State University of Los Angeles. He holds a California Lifetime College Level Teaching Credential and taught art classes at Pasadena City College for several years.

He and his wife have lived in North Grenville for many years, and, as listed above, his contributions to this area are extensive and precious. He is a generous help and advisor to other artists, and has added great beauty to our lives and neighbourhoods.

"It is not too much to say that Don Munz is revered in North Grenville and far and wide as an artist and community supporter. He has left his mark on our community in so many ways, often unknown to residents. Don designed the renovated facades on Prescott Street, supervised the high school students who created the steamboat murals on Prescott and Clothier Streets, created the sketches of historic buildings in Kemptville in conjunction with the Kemptville BIA and the NG Heritage Advisory Committee, (and donated them to raise funds for the gazebo in Maplewood Park in Oxford Mills), and so many more projects which have added to the beauty and style of North Grenville. But, above and beyond everything else he has done, Don is an artist, a wonderfully talented man whose work is admired, respected and loved among artists – a sure sign of quality in the work, and a fine personality in the artist."
